A Victorious Living In Christ

INTRODUCTION
Nobody ever wants a loss be it in a race or in a competition. Everybody wants a victory. A person is called a victor when he defeats his opponent. There is no victory without an opponent. An athlete will prepare himself well before the competition. Not only will they practice hard, but they will also try to figure out the weak spots of the opponents in order to find the suitable strategy to beat him. As believers, we also have our race. It is called the race of faith. We are in the race of faith. How is our preparation, especially in this end times?

Remember, our opponent is the devil. We need to know that the devil is also working extra hard to trample the faith of the children of God, especially the faith of those who walk with the Lord. The devil does not care to religious Christians who don’t grow and don’t bear fruits for the Kingdom of God.
1 John 5:4-5
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

SHARING
There are few heroes of faith that we can find in the Bible, such as Noah, Enoch, Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Moses, Joshua and many more.
Faith journey is full of challenges and we can read in Hebrews 11 that they obtained victory for their faith.
In the New Testament we can see how the Lord Jesus prayed and struggled in Gethsemane. Through His faith, mankind is rescued from death. Through His faith He defeated the plans of the enemy.
How to be a victorious Christian?
1. Be serious with our faith
Read: Hebrews 12:1-2
In order to be able to be launched to space, a rocket needs to have its
full power to conquer the gravity of earth. A victorious Christian needs his full power by persevere in prayers and in his personal relationship with the Lord. He needs to have an intimate relationship with God the Spirit.
2. Conquer sin by the Spirit of God
Read: John 14:15-17
To live victoriously is not only to win over all the challenges that we face in this journey of faith, but it is also to win over sin and ALL its desires.
When someone repents and receives Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Savior, then the Spirit of God dwells in him. But that doesn’t mean that the person is free from all temptation and the desires of sin. The devil will still try to allure those who are already in Christ to go back to their
old sins.
Romans 6:4, told us that we are already buried with Christ through baptism into death and raised from the dead, so that we should walk in newness of life.
The Holy Spirit is the Person of God; He is our Helper who in the name of Jesus Christ will enable us to conquer the power of sin. If we are close with the Spirit of God, if we always depend on Him in our daily life, then His power will enable us to go through the race of faith, defeating all the temptations of sin.
Romans 6:6-7, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin.
Romans 6:12, Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
3. Keep on watch and understand our status
Read 1 Peter 5:8, Genesis 39:6-12
Joseph successfully ran away from the bondage and the temptation of sin. It was before the time of Jesus Christ; Christ had yet to die for Joseph’s sin. Jesus had yet to intercede for him and the Holy Spirit was yet to be poured out. How could Joseph escape from the temptation?
He believed in the promises of God. He understood his status as the chosen of God. He obtained the dream from the Lord that he would become a leader. He suffered. He was accused, persecuted and imprisoned. But he persevered on the vision that the Lord gave him.
Beloveds, God has given great vision for us – in His time we will be
raptured to live with Him forever and ever. Why don’t we focus ourselves to take heed on this vision by living in righteousness and holiness? Every single act, thought, and attitude that is against the
righteousness of the Word of God is sin.
CONCLUSION

– We have been equipped by the word of God, by the name Jesus, and
also by the Holy Spirit. We have the unbeatable faith, the faith that
overcomes the world.

– Remember the vision that God has given to us. He promised that He
will come soon to take His chosen and victorious people and bring them
to eternal heaven.
